Prayers for the members of Claremont UMC.

In our prayers...

"Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness; answer me in your righteousness." ~ Psalm 143:1
Dear Friends,
Let us join in prayer together for one another.

We hold Laura Lilley-Coles in our prayers as she is struggling with various health concerns. We are praying that God presents solutions for healing for Laura. May she and Lottie both know God's healing presence, God's comfort and strength.

We hold Dick and Pam Bunce in our prayers as they grieve the death of their dear little dog, Reina. May they feel God's comfort in their sadness, and celebrate the years they shared.

Let us also pray for Nia Mamea-Tuihalamaka, member of CUMC and daughter of Mary Mamea and sister of Mateo, and her husband. They have both tested positive for the Coronavirus. Nia is a NICU nurse. May Nia and her husband know God's healing touch and strength as they recover.

We hold close in prayer our sisters and brothers of Claremont UMC who are unable to connect by zoom, internet, or other ways with our worship, fellowship, mission and ministries. May all feel God's loving presence with them. May they feel the love we send to them.

We pray together, too, for the members of BethEl AME in Fontana, with gratitude for our ongoing relationship through Zoom.

Please continue to pray for Pamela Williamson and Family, Cathy Thompson and Family, all who have lost loved ones in the recent months. May all who are grieving feel God's loving and comforting presence and peace that passes all understanding.

We lift up prayers of thanksgiving to God for Moon Young Kong's sermon this Sunday, November 22, and prayers for her continuing work on papers for the ordination process.

We express our deep gratitude to God for the outpouring of various gifts from all of you. We pray that they would be used for God's work in the world. We lift up prayers of gratitude to God also for our Stewardship Committee, chairs, Sara and Dan Domonoske, and Rev. Karen.

We pray for the children and parents who have been ruthlessly separated at our borders. May God guide us to make this right, to reunite the children with their parents and families. May God protect and be with these dear ones in the dire conditions they face.

We pray, too, for ALL who suffer from oppression, and violence due to racist systems and beliefs at work in the world, that God would show up and bring about righteousness and justice. We know that God is working for Good in this world, that God is working for the liberation of all who are discriminated against and oppressed. Just as Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to his disciples, we know that the Holy Spirit remains with all of us as well, and may we all work with the Holy Spirit to eradicate and dismantle racism.

We continue to pray for all who are struggling with the life changes and challenges brought on by racism and the Covid19 pandemic. We know that there are challenges to our mental health. Many of us may feel anxious, depressed, lonely, and/or fearful. May we all know that we are not alone, and may God's love and presence, and the love of family and friends continue to be felt by all of us. May we all feel God's peace, which surpasses all understanding. May we all find ways to put our full trust in God.

We pray for all who are suffering from Covid19, and all who are caring for those with the virus. We pray that they would know God's healing presence, God's comfort and strength, and that God would restore their health and keep them healthy.

As we feel and face all of the darkness, may we remember, and look to the Light that shines in the darkness, and remember the darkness does NOT overcome it! Remember to look for those who reflect this true Light in the world today.

If you know of anyone in the CUMC family who should be lifted up in prayer and included in a future prayer email, please contact the church office via email, prayers@claremontumc.org.  Please be sure to have their permission to be included on the prayer list and in the prayer email.

We pray for God's loving and healing touch to be upon all who are on our hearts and minds.  We ask for God's blessing to be upon each one, upon each of you reading, and upon all of our loved ones.

Blessings,
Jessica Johnston
