Do you remember the Beatles' song Love is all you need? The chorus says, "All you need is love, all you need is love, all you need is love, love...love is all you need." In reality there are all kinds of love and not every kind of love is beneficial. Right now our culture is demonstrating an awful lot of self-serving love. And, that my friends, will never make the world a better place.
There was One who showed us true love. The Bible tells us that while we were still sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). What wonderful love that is! Christ demonstrated sacrificial love by laying down His life for us in order to give us relationship with God. You see, each and every one of us are sinners by our very nature. And yet, Christ's love made forgiveness available to anyone who asks: to the adulterer, the thief, the gossip, the atheist, just to name a few. It doesn't matter who you are, what you've done or what you've believed. What matters is asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and then surrendering your life completely to Him. The Bible tells us that when someone sincerely comes to Christ all things are made new (II Corinthians 5:17). Now that's what I call real love!!
Let's take this opportunity right in front of each and every one of us to tell others and show others this love of Jesus. We are currently in a war. This war, however, is not a war against a particular political party, a gender, a race, etc. It is a spiritual war that can only be won by putting on the full armor of God and standing up for biblical truth in the power of Christ's love.
Jesus' love is all we need. He will be victorious. Let us stand up and shine!
