Senior Pictures

If you missed your senior photo session, there are sessions available on December 1-2 from 9 am to 3 pm on campus in the auditorium.  Students can bring/wear one outfit of their choice for their casual and environmental (outside) portraits. Each senior will also take two formal portraits, one with a tux/drape and one with a  cap/gown. Lifetouch will handle social distancing protocols and has special processes for sanitizing all materials that students may share. You will receive a letter in the mail from  Lifetouch with instructions for setting your portrait appointments.

 

Virtual Viking Talk

Join us for another Virtual Viking Talk on Thursday, December 3rd at 7:00pm. During this session, we will discuss testing, grading and the return to school in January. You can attend the meeting using the following link: https://cms-k12-nc-us.zoom.us/j/7401799604 Meeting ID: 740 179 9604.

 

“Undecided” Night

Seniors, if you are “UNDECIDED” about what you want to do after high school, but you are pretty sure you do not want to go straight to a 4-year college/university, join us for the virtual Undecided Night on Thursday, December 3rd from 6:00 – 7:30 PM.

You will hear from 25 different employers in the Charlotte area who have opportunities for you. Many of these opportunities include trade-jobs, apprenticeships, military careers, and companies in the Charlotte area who offer paid-training or even tuition reimbursement. You will also learn about the numerous certificates, diplomas, and programs at CPCC that will lead you to your career after completion, and more.

You won’t want to miss this one-time virtual event. All students/families are welcome, even though the focus will be on seniors.

Midterm and Final Exams

This semester, there will be no final exams for semester courses, except for End-of-Course tested courses (EOC), selected Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses and Level 1 World Languages courses. Level 1 World Languages exams will be given online. End-of-Course and CTE tests will be given in person beginning December 15th. If you need transportation to take these tests, please complete the following link: https://bit.ly/FallExamTransportation

Midterm exams for students in A/B-day classes will begin on Monday, December 7th.

Virtual Application Days

Sessions are available Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. in Webex (no session on November 26, Thanksgiving Day):

  • December 3
  • December 10

They will hold an additional session on Saturday, December 12, 10 a.m.

Prom Committee

Greetings Students,
Are you creative, organized, and looking to get involved in an extracurricular this year? Join North's 2020-2021 Prom Committee! We are looking for 8-10 juniors and seniors to help organize this year's prom. Prom Committee members act as the voice of the students, and we want students to be heard.

PLEASE NOTE: While it is our hope that prom will happen this spring, it is not a guarantee due to Covid-19 restrictions. We are planning for the best, but understand that prom could be cancelled.

Requirements for Applicants:
  • Junior or Senior
  • GPA 2.0 or higher
  • Teacher Recommendation Required (see below)

We are excited to announce a 2021 Senior Events Wristband is available for purchase on the school website until December 31, 2020. Use your wristband for safe and fun monthly drive-thru events at the school starting in January 2021. More detailed information will be shared through the NMHS Viking Vine, Weekly ConnectEds, and the new Viking Student News platform launching soon. Get your 2020 wristband before they are gone! HVAC Paid Training


The City of Charlotte, in partnership with Urban League of Central Carolinas, has launched the Renewable Energy and Efficiency Workforce (“RENEW”) Training Program. RENEW will provide paid training in the area of HVAC and Electrical Trades. These 13-week classes will teach basic skills for the industry and work to place graduates in successful full-time employment opportunities.

UNC Charlotte and Latin Americans Working for Achievement (LAWA) event on Saturday, December 5 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. During this event, Latinx students and their families will get the opportunity to learn about UNC Charlotte, our admissions process, scholarship opportunities, and much more. 
 
Once students register, they will be entered into a drawing to win some great prizes, including a brand new laptop! Additionally, the information that will be presented during this event has been carefully put together to address any potentially unique circumstances students may be in, so that they may become aware of the many pathways available to them to attend UNC Charlotte and succeed while there.
