Amani joined the National Guard right out of high school   She looked forward to serving her country,  but an unforeseen accident changed all that when an explosion occurred on the firing range.  The accident led to lack of sleep, depression and damage to her eye sight.

"I ended up homeless, living in my car and showering at the local gym. I had no motivation to live, but God had other plans so I went to the VA for help.  During a visit there, I was given a card for Women of Hope."
