Happy Holidays!

As we close out 2020, I am grateful for our dance families that have supported our small dance studio throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been an unprecedented year and we have been close to shutting our doors permanently. We are not out of the woods yet! It means so much to me to see all my dancers in class, whether in person or on Zoom.

For those of you who showed up in September and danced through December without missing a beat, I’m sending you a certificate for a Loyalty Credit ($25 per dancer). I appreciate your dedication and willingness to take class online!

I wish that we could have finished the semester in person. Thank you for recognizing that this shutdown was unexpected and for helping your dancers understand that dancing on Zoom is still fun! Check your email for details on how to add this credit to your account!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being adventurous, passionate, and extra committed to your dance classes this year. Dancing on Zoom is certainly a new frontier but there are so many good reasons to continue our training online. We all worked together to create some amazing dance memories this year.

Read on for information about our winter classes starting January 4.

Happy Holidays!

Salish Sea Ballet is closed for Holiday Break from December 14 - January 3

Registration for Winter Session is open!

Please read the following CAREFULLY before registering:

  • Governor Inslee has extended our shutdown through January 4. At this time, we do not know if we will be able to offer in-person classes starting January 5.

  • For this reason, we are taking registrations for VIRTUAL classes only. If Governor Inslee allows us to reopen, dancers will be given the opportunity to choose in-person or virtual. Class times will remain the same.

  • NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS WILL BE GIVEN. If you register, you are committing to dancing virtually or in person (and thank you for being flexible!). We are committed to providing you with classes no matter what!

  • If you have lost your job due to COVID-19 or your financial situation prevents you from enrolling, please contact me. We have some financial need scholarships available.

The 2020 Friday Harbor Nutcracker - Virtual!

Even COVID-19 could not stop the Friday Harbor Nutcracker! Our dancers were excited to keep this tradition alive. Three of our classes recorded their choreography remotely from home. A small group of our advanced dancers had the opportunity to record parts of Act 2 in the San Juan Community Theatre.

I am in the process of collecting and editing the class videos, and the Theatre is editing our Act 2 footage. If you have not sent me your dancer’s video, please send it this weekend. I will be working on the video next week!

As soon as the final video is available, I will send it to all of you and post in on our website. In the meantime, I have put together a Behind The Scenes look at the rehearsals and filming of Act 2 in the Theatre.
