Tuesday, December 1st marked the start of La Casa's 2020 #GivingTuesday Campaign, a worldwide celebration of generosity and giving. It started in 2012 with a simple mission to encourage people to do good.
Each holiday season over the past 12 years, La Casa de Don Pedro has hosted our giving campaign, adopting the international #GivingTuesday platform in 2013, and helping to inspire hundreds of New Jersey’s families and businesses to donate locally to those who need it most.
With COVID-19 threatening to decimate too many of Newark’s families with job loss, food insecurity, housing insecurity, trauma, and grief, the need is greater than ever.
But you can make a difference when you join us this holiday season. Together let's collect 1,000 quality gifts for La Casa’s kids, distribute 750 shopping bags of fresh produce, house staples, and holiday meats to the many food insecure families we serve, and raise $50,000 in funds to help sustain our comprehensive programs and services.

With 1,000 children ages 6 months to 18 years old (and a dozen expecting moms) counting on La Casa for some holiday smiles, please lend a hand and purchase a gift. Choose your gift from our Amazon Wish List and select 'La Casa (listed under Judy Gonzalez) as the delivery location and we'll make sure it goes directly to a child. Please purchase by 12/9 to ensure our children receive in time for the holidays.
Food insecurity is devastating our community. But your gift to La Casa's #GivingTuesday Holiday Food Drive will help spread love to families having trouble finding their next meal. Donations can include canned goods, household staples, holiday ingredients and goodies, & more. You can drop off non-perishable items, frozen meats, and other holiday goodies in-person.
