Dear Library Customer,

We hope that this message finds you safe and well during the holiday season. At this time the Palo Alto City Library will remain open during the State’s Regional Stay at Home Order, effective December 6 through January 4, with some modifications to our Sidewalk Services. You may return materials during the regular time and days (Tuesday through Saturday between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.) and/or pick up holds during your designated appointment time. Holds will be checked out and staged for you to pick up in front of your selected library, and returns can be made to designated bins placed outside the facility.

We cannot take same-day appointments or walk-ins, so please schedule an appointment either online or by phone (650-329-2436). Staff will be available to provided limited assistance with your holds at each location. Please cancel any holds you no longer need by email, phone, (650-329-2436), or log into your account.

We will also suspend our popular Book Bundle service at this time. If you’d like assistance or recommendations from our Librarians, please use our Shelf Made service.

Look for Virtual Events on our website, including storytimes, book clubs and ESL programs, and on our YouTube Channel for songs, stories and crafts!

These temporary changes to services are to ensure the health and safety of our staff and community, and to align with the City’s policies on essential services during this time. Find out more about the State’s Regional Stay at Home Order and additional restrictions at covid19.ca.gov.

We thank you for your understanding and appreciate your continued support of the Library!

Stay Well & Happy Holidays,

Gayathri Kanth
Interim Library Director
