Dear Friends,
Our team, community, and city have been through so much and accomplished so much this year. And there is so much work left to do. In order to bring about a more just and liberated society in 2021, we believe it’s crucial for each of us to commit time and space to slowing down. As we wind down for the year, we will be exploring ways forward by taking time to pause.
In this spirit, our team invites you to slow down and recharge for the last weeks of this year. We’re calling this period Rest Fest--a community-wide celebration of rest.
|
|
During Rest Fest, our team will be intentionally protecting time to rest, reflect, and recharge. We created a Resource Guide to ground our process in practices and wisdom. We believe that self-care is vital to sustaining the work of social justice and systems change. And that taking a pause is essential groundwork to rebuild our world in 2021.
Check out our Medium page to read how our Embracing Emergence leadership retreat in November shaped our thinking around pause. Here, you’ll also find our Wellness Spotlight series which highlights how visionary leaders in Baltimore practice individual self-care to care for the collective.
Encourage and enable yourself and others to reset. Share your resources and practices with loved ones. Document yourself in pause-mode and tag us in social media! #RestFest2020
This year has challenged us on all fronts. We want to come back together next year with fresh eyes and rejuvenated spirits. Please consider slowing down with us. Even in small ways.

We never cease to be amazed by the adaptability and resilience of our community. In the past year, we have experienced so many evolutions of our work, our communities, and ourselves. We stand in solidarity and sadness with all of our beloved friends and family who have experienced loss this year. It came in so many unexpected waves and ways. We also celebrate the immensely generous spirit you all have poured into responding to the layered crises of 2020.
Thank you to our Impact Hub members, partners, and funders who truly held us up this year. Your contributions mean everything to us and keep us buoyed through uncertain times. You have enabled us to adapt, survive, and evolve in ways we never imagined.
