What a Day this will Be!
The Electoral College votes are being counted today.
Up to the minute coverage by the Washington Post.
And, if you don't want to miss out on any of the excitement, there is C-SPAN, live.
For example, there was just a touching moment when a member of the Electoral College in Delaware explained that she had a stroke.
After her stroke, she could not sign her name,
Today, she signed nine documents that are now part of history.
If she could recover from a stroke and sign her name, she said, we can recover from the challenges of the past four years.
We have come to a fork in the road on the way to the White House.
One way leads us back into the nightmare - and we could get there if the current president is successful in convincing state legislatures to ignore the popular vote, or if the lawsuit being prepared to contest the election gets to the "Trump" Supreme Court.
The other way leads us into a bright, more dependable and consistent future under the current US Constitution.
As I began writing this, I was relieved to see the future is winning.

Precinct CommitteeWOMEN and Precinct CommitteeMEN (sorry, there is no seat at this table reserved for Precinct CommitteeX) will vote on our local Democratic Party officers.

At the moment, most of the officers who have chosen to stay are unopposed.
The major contests are for State CommitteeMAN and State CommitteeWOMAN.

However, while we need to join together to win in 2022 and 2024, this is an election.
Attend and see whether Gabe, et al, will provide a vision for us to help DEMOCRATS WIN in Lee County in 2022 and 2024.
Examples might include:
1. The Constitutional reason for the Census is to redraw Congressional District lines.
Will Gabe commit to actively searching for someone to Chair a committee on Congressional Redistricting?
2. The quality of messaging by Democratic candidates, for primary and general elections, has been haphazard. Some has been very good.
Will Gabe commit to early fundraising so the DEC can offer all Democratic candidates a baseline website to raise the impression of ALL Democratic candidates in Lee County?
3. I have heard one reason the State CommitteeMAN and State CommitteeWOMAN will be so important this year is that state-wide elections will be held soon and "someone" suddenly realized there are as many Democrats on the West Coast, between St. Petersburg and Collier County, as there are in the Big Counties of the East Coast.
Will Gabe and our State CommitteeMAN and State CommitteeWOMAN commit to forming a West Coast alliance with other County Democratic Parties to WIN the West Coast in 2022 and 2024?
