"It's not convenient... and it's not fair, either. But I suppose I can't do anything about it."

A RADIO CHRISTMAS CAROL

Re-Imagined Radio has, since 2013, offered our radio rendition of the classic holiday tale A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Our performance has become a community tradition. For years we've stuck with a proven formula. This year we want to go big, better. Join us

Christmas Eve
December 24
4:00-6:00 PM

for a special two hour "A Radio Christmas Carol" broadcast online at xray.fm and on air at 99.9FM KXRW Vancouver and 91.1FM and 107.1FM KXRY Portland.

A Christmas Carol was published by Charles Dickens, first serially in a magazine and then, in December 1834, as a novella. It has never been out of print since. A number of adaptations have been made of Dickens's novel, none perhaps better than the 24 December 1939 Campbell Playhouse radio dramatization narrated by Orson Welles and starring Lionel Barrymore as Ebenezer Scrooge. Welles voiced the part of Scrooge in an earlier Mercury Theatre on the Air performance, 23 December 1938. The plot is well-known: Ebenezer Scrooge, an old miser, cold of heart and spirit, is transformed by three visits from Ghosts of Christmas into a kind, generous, and compassionate man. He gives Bob Cratchit a raise and becomes a second father to Tiny Tim. The story brings joy and festivities to the seasonal holidays.
