HOPE
The Christmas season, brings with it a bit of uncertainty. Sometimes it's smooth and predictable. Other times, it's a wild and spontaneous ride. Of course, this is on a continuum and it can be a mixed bag of both extremes at the same time! This year is on pace to smash all the records on the wild side. :-)
On Sunday, we talked about hope. Hope is not a feeling, or even optimism, but the confidence, trust and belief in the one who keeps His promises. The Jewish people hoped in the coming Messiah with certainty that it would happen because Yahweh had said so. They knew who He was and that He would keep His word. In the same way, we hope in Jesus. He promised to save us from our sin, and He did! He promised to always be with us, and He is! And He promised to come again for us, and He will! This is the basis for our hope in Him; that He is the God Who keeps His promises.
Let's allow hope in Jesus to fill our lives as we go through this season. Because no matter what goes on in the world we live in, we know who our God is and He keeps His promises!
