Brian Calvert is a writer, editor and audio producer with 25 years in journalism. He is the former editor-in-chief of High Country News and a recipient of the Ted Scripps Fellowship in Environmental Journalism. His writing has appeared in Pacific Standard, The New York Times Magazine, Climbing, Grist, and Guernica, and his audio reporting has aired on CBC’s Dispatches, KCRW’s UnFictional and Which Way LA?, WYNC’s Studio 360 and APM’s Weekend America. He holds a BA in English from the University of Northern Colorado and an MA in poetry from Western Colorado University. He is currently writing a book that explores the contested ideas and spaces of the Western United States.  

Becky Jacobs is a reporter at The Salt Lake Tribune who covers women’s issues and the status of women in Utah. She started at the paper in June 2019 through Report for America, an organization focused on eliminating the country's news deserts. She wrote a series of articles from a first-of-its-kind poll of Utah women conducted by The Salt Lake Tribune and Suffolk University, examining how women in the state view themselves and what they perceive to be their biggest challenges. In the past year, she's spotlighted 139 new female voices in The Tribune. Becky previously reported on crime and courts for The Post-Tribune, a suburb paper of The Chicago Tribune in Northwest Indiana, and for The Grand Forks Herald in North Dakota. 

Rebecca Green graduated from Dixie State University in 2011 and worked on the 2012 campaign for Senator Orrin Hatch. She covered news in the digital space for Fox 13 in Salt Lake City for seven years and now works in marketing. Rebecca is the chair of Transgender Education Advocates of Utah and loves engaging with opportunities to advocate for her community. She lives with her partner, Dexter, in Salt Lake County and enjoys science fiction, gaming, and especially science fiction themed war gaming.

Dana Roberson, is executive producer of PBS NewsHour Weekend. She’s a multi-award winning veteran producer of national news and public affairs programming. 

Prior to joining PBS NewsHour she produced at WNYC/New York Public Radio for the national daily news program The Takeaway. She has worked at CBS News on acclaimed programs such as CBS 60 Minutes, 60 Minutes II and CBS Sunday Morning. She also worked with legendary newsman Dan Rather both at CBS News and on his investigative team at AXS-TV. Her investigative reporting earned her a Peabody award for coverage of the Abu Ghraib prison scandal in Iraq. She has covered stories from 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan to the opioid crises and criminal justice reform. 

She is a graduate of the University of Iowa and received her M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She has also taught as an adjunct professor at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York
