 G&F Concrete Cutting, Inc. has earned well-deserved recognition as a leader in the concrete cutting industry. At the helm of this highly-regarded company is Rita Ferguson, whose business success has humble and practical roots. Over 35 years ago, Rita owned an art gallery and was planning to become a teacher but realized that neither of these occupations were a good fit for her, and that she ultimately wanted to put her efforts into something that would provide a more reliable income. She’d already developed a good understanding of concrete cutting through her then-fiancé (now her long-time husband and business partner, Greg Ferguson), who had been working in that field for several years. When the opportunity presented itself to sell her art gallery, Rita decided to invest in founding a concrete cutting business with Greg, which launched her into the male-dominated world of construction.

Department of Water & Power
LADWP suspended in-person public bid openings, the hand-delivery of bids, and in-person Pre-Bid meetings to reduce the number of people coming into LADWP facilities and help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Until further notice, LADWP is not accepting hand-delivered bids; all bids must be sent to LADWP by mail, allowing enough time to be delivered at the VLC by the due date. All submittals will be time-stamped at the VLC public counter as soon as they are received. Bids received after the due date and time may be deemed non-responsive and excluded from consideration.
All Bid openings are being conducted online only, using WebEx, which requires a computer with internet access and a separate telephone line. LADWP will hold public bid openings via WebEx starting at 2:00 p.m. on the date each bid closes.
