FTC Approves Ottobock’s MPK Divesture to Proteor   

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) approved an application by Otto Bock HealthCare North America to divest some prosthetic assets to Proteor USA. In 2019, citing that the 2017 merger between Ottobock and Freedom Innovation was anticompetitive, the FTC required Ottobock’s divesture of microprocessor knee products and technology assets. MORE

CMS Names Competitive Bidding Suppliers
 

CMS announced the names of the suppliers that have been awarded contracts to provide off-the-shelf (OTS) knee braces and OTS back braces to Medicare beneficiaries in Round 2021 competitive bidding areas (CBAs). Starting January 1, 2021, beneficiaries with original Medicare who obtain competitively bid items in these CBAs must obtain these items from a Round 2021 contract supplier for Medicare to pay, unless an exception applies. MORE
