NEWSLETTER

Dear friends and clients,

We hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy!

As the end of the year is approaching, we are reflecting on the lessons this year has brought so far and how to apply them to this moment and the foreseeable future.

Collectively, it's been a year of learning to adjust to a global pandemic and of waking up to and/or deepening our understanding of the injustices that have been shaping our society for centuries. We had to learn to slow down, to be more patient with ourselves and each other, and to reevaluate what is important to us and what no longer serves us.

More than ever, we have benefited this year from applying a racial and economic equity lens as we reckon with how we want to continue to live and work in our community, to identify the nourishing ways to support each other, and as we envision and work towards a more equitable future for all.

Many of you have already heard, a few months ago our long-time receptionist Wendi decided to move on to another veterinary clinic.  And Carolyn, also a loved and valued long-time team member, is starting a new chapter in her life and transitioning into relief work. We will miss both of them and wish them well!

If 2020 has taught us anything, it is that change is the only constant we can count on and prepare for, and we have some exciting projects on our horizon for this coming year:
  • NEW WEBSITE: We are working on getting a new, easier to navigate and more secure website in the next few months. The new website will also feature our newly revised logo, which you may have already noticed on our social media platforms and on top of this newsletter. We replaced the Yin and Yang symbol with a hawthorn branch to reflect the herbal traditions of Dr. Conny's cultural heritage in a new color scheme.

  • NEW PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE: Early next year, we will switch to a cloud-based practice management software for easier remote accessibility, enhanced productivity and client communication, and the ability for online appointment scheduling and invoice payments.

  • SEARCH FOR A NEW LOCATION: Our clinic lease is expiring in October 2021 and we want to move to a new location (in the same neighborhood). Let us know if you know of a good spot!

  • HEAVIER FOCUS ON NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE: This means we will slowly phase out some of the conventional medicine services we currently offer, including most anesthetic procedures, and will refer those out to other area vets.
Like last year, we are planning to take some extended time off at the end of the year to recharge and be able to connect with family and friends. For exact closure days, please see below and keep an eye on our social media platforms and website for updated information.

Happy holidays and best wishes,
Dr. Conny Wagner, Jada, Erika, Lucia, Alexis, and Yun
