Dear <<First Name>>,

This Wednesday 9 December Recitals Australia presents a special Lunch Hour Series concert featuring Eugene Wei, piano as a part of our emerging artist program. Eugene will be accompanied by pianist Stephen van der Hoek on our second grand piano.

Eugene has luckily recovered from an injury that prevented his earlier appearance, and we really look forward to hearing this excellent program!

Live audience tickets - we have available some limited tickets (15 only) to attend the performance physically (and socially distanced) in person. The tickets are $10 each and we request that you book online prior to the performance. Tickets will NOT be available at the door.

The concert is also free to watch online at our website (https://recitalsaustralia.org.au), on Vimeo or via Facebook. If the stream is not starting or behaving oddly, please try an alternate link from above or refresh your browser window to give it a kick!

You might also like to view the concert archive at our website, where all of the Lunch Hour Series (and our other streamed events) are available for viewing at your leisure or to share them with family and friends!

Our emerging artist programs are made possible by donations, and your support is always welcomed through a tax deductible donation to our organisation. We are immensely grateful to the many new and old friends of Recitals Australia that have been able to help us over the past months, enabling Recitals Australia to continue producing digital concerts and supporting professional and emerging artist opportunity in Adelaide.

Please share this information with your friends.

Eighteen-year-old Eugene Wei is concluding his first year of training at the Elder Conservatorium. Under the tutelage of Dr. Konstantin Shamray and mentored by concert pianist Gil Sullivan, Eugene is looking forward to his second year of music study in 2021.

In recent years, Eugene has shared his passion for music in solo recitals and in concerto performances with orchestras. Eugene has been awarded numerous prizes in various competitions. In 2019, Eugene was the 5MBS Young Performer of the year and the winner of the National Young Virtuoso Award. He has also participated in Masterclasses with renounced pianists including Roy Howat and Stephen Kovacevich.

Ambitious for pursuing post-graduate studies overseas, Eugene is eager to see how the future will open his mind to the spirit of music-making.

He holds a Licentiate Diploma in Piano from the AMEB, was awarded the SA state prize for Associate Diploma and was national winner of the 5MBS Young Performer of the Year award. Lewis Blanchard, ClarinetSpring Lunch Hour Series

Recitals Australia presents the Lunch Hour Series as part of our educational and outreach programs. It aims to support and mentor young emerging artists and provides valuable performance opportunities in front of an audience. The program is now available on our website.

The program is entirely supported through donations. We'd appreciate any assistance you can give us, and are happy to discuss a donation on the phone on 08 8236 7488 or you can donate directly online at https://recitalsaustralia.org.au/donate/

The Series final for 2020 has been held, with the top prize awarded to Kate Worley (viola) and second prize to Lewis Blanchard (clarinet). Eugene is unfortunately not eligible for the awards. We will hold the Awards again in Autumn, 2021.

Supporting Australian emerging artists and musicians for nearly 50 years, Recitals Australia is entirely run by a volunteer council and relies on donations to support all of our programs. We thank our donors and partners for their support of the 2020 Spring Series: 5MBS Radio, National Trust South Australia, Pilgrim Uniting Church, Musica Viva, ArtFuel by I-Nex, Chamber Music Adelaide and many individual donors and volunteers.

Look forward to seeing you there! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.

Best wishes.
