Dear Colleague

We have now published this year’s ICHP Impact Report, showcasing our range of impacts from the 12-18 months - an unprecedented period in the history of the NHS.

We were honoured to be able to support our sector’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and provided a range of support, ranging from ICU capacity analysis and Nightingale modelling, to supporting members of our staff to work on the frontline in the NHS in North West London.

The report includes further detail of this work, as well as key highlights from other project areas, including:

  • •    Our successful bid to become one of seven national Health and Data Research UK (HDRUK) hubs for real world evidence, to help improve our understanding of many long-term conditions and find new life saving treatments by using advanced technologies and artificial intelligence.

    •    Our work to locally implement the PReCePT programme, which prevents babies from developing cerebral palsy and for which we won a HSJ 2020 award for “Best Partnership Solution for Improving Safety”.

    •    The commission for ICHP to lead a new £2.35m scheme to support people with mental health needs sleeping rough across London.

    •    Our work with West London NHS Trust and Universities of Surrey and West London to improve cervical screening for women with mental health conditions.

    •    The launch of our new AF High Impact Intervention Tool which helps commissioners make more informed decisions on care for patients with AF.

    •    Our data analysis of the healthcare needs of bomb blast victims, creating a model that enables healthcare professionals to better plan resources, both immediately and in the long term, following a blast.

This year, more so than any other, we have demonstrated responsiveness to our members and delivered true impact in a really collaborative way; living our values and delivering impact. The challenges presented by the pandemic are not behind us. It is now that we must continue to evolve and grow as an organisation, so we that we can continue to support our colleagues, members and stakeholders.

I do hope you find our impact report helpful, and if you have any further enquiries about our work please do contact us.

Best wishes,

Axel Heitmueller
