Practice Solutions are supporting Social Care Wales to develop a health and wellbeing framework for the Social Care Workforce. This project will shine a light on health and wellbeing and how it is measured. The project will consider what staff expect of their employer and, in turn, what the employer expects of staff, the priorities for good health and well-being, and what more needs to be done to improve it.
To inform this there are a number of ways that staff can engage in the next few weeks in the run up to Christmas. As many of the workforce as possible should feed into this project and their input is vital, as this work is key to wellbeing. The findings of this first pre-Christmas phase, will help to develop an extensive health and wellbeing survey and a staff governance framework in the new year, which crucially, will inform the new Health & Wellbeing Framework.
Here are the various ways that the social care workforce can currently get involved
1.
Through our series of virtual workforce viewpoint panel events (happening now - 15 December 2020)
There are 3 virtual engagement events for each Local Authority Region as well as individual events for Domiciliary Care, Care Homes, independent providers, registered social landlords, supported living, etc
These workforce viewpoint panels will only be for 10-12 participants and will take no more than 90 minutes. Staff can register on the sessions using Eventbrite.
