At Diverse and Resilient we serve this community, we are this community, and we stand with this community.  In 2020 we grieved the loss of those murdered through violent acts caused by racism and the institutions that uphold white supremacy.  We responded by joining in the protests, by organizing supplies for protesters, by cleaning streets, and offering relief funds.

We also responded to the impact of COVID-19 by shifting our HIV/STI testing protocols to allow for safer in person testing, we continue to provide condoms throughout Milwaukee, and we continue to respond to the increasing calls from individuals experiencing community or partner violence.  We also shifted much of our other work to on-line options so we remain a safe place for LGBTQ people in Wisconsin.

As we pivoted to do the necessary work described above, we also:
  • Launched our HIV Peer Navigator program to ensure that people living with HIV in Milwaukee County have access to health care and support services
  • Completed our Trans Needs Assessment which will guide people of trans experience in determining their own futures through their own leadership and magnificence

We are able to do this work because we are a trusted provider of services to LGBTQ people in Wisconsin.  We hire people from our community who understand the issues we are working on and who are committed to improving the health, safety and wellbeing of all LGBTQ people.

Your support is crucial as we serve more LGBTQ people in Wisconsin.  Please consider making a gift today.  Donating online with your credit card at diverseandresilient.org is one easy way.

Sincerely,

Gerald Coon, PhD
President & CEO
