Chris Wilson - Live at the Continental

Cheersquad Records & Tapes are extremely proud and very excited to announce the long-deserved re-release, and first-ever vinyl release of the classic Chris Wilson album, Live at the Continental. Available on double LP in a limited run of yellow and black vinyl, matching the colours of Chris's beloved Richmond Football Club. Also coming out on black vinyl and a double CD. The vinyl comes with a free digital download.

Release date January 22, 2021, just in time for Chris’ 65^th birthday on the 24^th. On pre-sale from December 4^th.

Originally recorded and released in 1994 Live at the Continental is an intimate recording of the Melbourne blues, country, folk and roots-rock master, accompanied only by long-time sideman Shane O'Mara on guitar, and Australian jazz luminary Jex Saarelaht on piano. The original nine-song CD has been remastered and expanded with more material – seventeen tracks in all.

Melbourne’s master blues & roots singer/songwriter/instrumentalist, Wilson was known for his classic solo work as well as his band Crown of Thorns and performances with Paul Kelly & the Coloured Girls, Diesel, Hunters & Collectors, Crowded House, Harem Scarem and punk stalwarts X.

Even - Down the Shops

Cheersquad are very pleased to announce 'Down the Shops', a collection of rare tribute tracks, covers and live tracks by Melbourne trio Even. The album has been lovingly put together by the band and contains songs by Australian bands like The Masters Apprentices, Hoodoo Gurus, The Stems, The Meanies and The Sunnyboys alongside classics from The Beatles, The Kinks, The Yardbirds, Blondie, Sex Pistols and more, which have previously been released on a diverse selection of tribute albums and as b-sides. EVEN has merch galore. 'Down the Shops' will be available on limited edition, mint green vinyl AND on limited edition, pastel blue vinyl. All items can be bought separately or bundled up for a sweet discount and to save on postage.

There are only 100 copies of each coloured vinyl.

Bandcamp Friday 7pm (AEDT)

It's the first Friday of the month and once again Bandcamp are waiving their fees. That means more of your money will go to our musicians. Due to the time difference Bandcamp Friday in Melbourne starts Friday 7pm and ends Saturday 7pm. Happy shopping.
