As with all areas of our lives this year, the way celebrate Christmas in our parishes will have to differ from normal. Yet it seems important to celebrate the birth of the Lord with the same joy as usual, if not more this year!
We intend to offer three opportunities to do this:
Recorded Family Liturgy
A short recorded service will be available on YouTube for families to use with young children. It will include carols to sing-along with, a Nativity play from one of our schools and a blessing of crib figures. Families will be able to gather together on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning to play the video and pray together at home.
Live Streamed Mass
On Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Morning, one of our parish Masses will be streamed live and will be available to view on YouTube.
Mass in all of our Cluster Churches
There will be at least two Masses in each church, making fifteen in total. There are details below, including how our churches will continue to remain COVID Secure and operate within the appropriate government guidelines.
We will not be operating a booking system, so you will need to be in place at least 20 minutes before Mass begins. In order to achieve adequate social distancing the churches currently have only half of their usual capacity, this may unfortunately mean that people are turned away once the church has reached that capacity.
