BC Council on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT) funding opportunity
Letter of Intent deadline: Tuesday, December 15, 2020
BCCAT is calling for proposals on Contemporary Issues in Student Mobility. This fund to a maximum of $18,000 is open for faculty, staff, and graduate students from member institutions of the BC Transfer System. There is a two-stage process: 2-page letter of intent and full proposal (by invitation). All proposals must have institutional support (statement from Vice-president or Dean), and direct or in-kind support. Learn more or contact Anna Tikina.
SSHRC Insight Development Grants: ORE Internal Review and Proposal Development Support
Open for criteria review
Applicants are welcome to submit their proposals for a full SSHRC criteria review. Applicants may choose to include a full copy of their proposal in a Word document for review or they may indicate specific sections on which they would like to receive feedback. Faculty of Education Research Infrastructure Support Services (RISS) Grants
Deadline to submit applications to ORE: Monday, January 11, 2021
RISS advances excellent research by funding activities typically ineligible for support from research grants, include grant matching for external grants requiring contributions, such as SSHRC's Connection Grants and Partnership Development Grants (PDGs), postdoc benefits, pre-conference planning, and fostering research collaboration. 2021 SSHRC Insight Development Grant Applications
If you are planning to apply for a SSHRC Insight Development Grant (IDG) in 2021, please email Nandini Maharaj. By reaching out, you will help Nandini manage the flow of applications coming through ORE and allow ORE to share proposal development resources with you. The IDG is the only SSHRC program that requires the Canadian Common CV (CCV). Canada's Digital Technology Supercluster: Cycle 4 Technology Leadership Program

Canada's Digital Technology Supercluster is seeking to co-invest up to $30M in approximately five to seven big, impactful and ambitious projects in the following areas: health, climate change and environment, and digital transformation. SSHRC Insight Development Grants Established Scholar Workshop
Tuesday, December 8, 2020 | 10:00 am - 12:00 pm PST
Insight Development Grant (IDG) funding can be accessed by established scholars to explore new research questions and approaches that are distinct from the applicant’s previous and ongoing research. This workshop will explore how to articulate this distinction in your IDG proposal, particularly in the “Proposed Versus Ongoing Research” module. NSERC Emerging Infectious Diseases Modelling Initiative

This initiative aims to establish a multi-disciplinary network(s) of specialists in modelling infectious diseases. UBC Scholarly Publication Fund

The UBC Scholarly Publication Fund assists UBC faculty members with the costs of scholarly publication. Subventions are partial subsidies toward the cost of publishing scholarly works and are commonly requested by publishers and academic presses. UBC Distinguished University Scholars Call for Nominations
Deadline to submit nomination dossier to ORE for internal selection: February 1, 2020
The Distinguished University Scholar program recognizes faculty who have distinguished themselves as exceptional scholars. Up to 10 Distinguished University Scholars are conferred across UBC every two years. The Faculty of Education is permitted to submit two nominees for consideration. Faculty nomination dossiers must be submitted to the ORE for internal selection. The selection committee will be comprised of the Dean, the Senior Associate Dean, the Associate Dean for Research, and a current Distinguished University Scholar. Learn more or contact Robert Olaj
