NEW! COMMUNITY SECTION OF WOLFPACK WEEKLY
Beginning today, the WolfPack Weekly will now feature a Community section where we highlight recaps of fun events, special campus life moments, pictures of student activities, and much more.

The WolfPack Weekly serves two purposes: to be informative (with "need-to-know" posts containing upcoming dates, deadlines, and details) as well as uplifting (sharing all the amazing things that are happening in our classrooms, on our sports fields, and behind the scenes). To make the WolfPack Weekly easier to navigate, the informative posts will appear in the top section, separated by their respective division. The Community section at the bottom will contain stories and photos of past events, sneak peeks into campus activities, and, in January, we will also begin highlighting each senior in the Class of 2021.

UPCOMING QUARANTINE PROTOCOL CHANGE
The CDC has offered new guidance on quarantine protocols. The guidance includes options for decreases in the length of quarantine for direct contacts who are asymptomatic, but it also includes a statement of the importance of working with public health officials regarding quarantine protocols. While we are anticipating a resulting change in our quarantine protocols, we are working with public health officials before finalizing and communicating such a change.

If yes to both, then we invite you to participate in Georgia GOAL! Whitefield partners with the Georgia GOAL Scholarship program, an organization that

allows you to redirect a portion of your state income taxes to Whitefield to help provide financial aid for qualified Whitefield students. You then receive a 100% state tax credit – it’s a win-win for everyone.

Complete the quick and easy 2021 Georgia GOAL Tax Credit application today by clicking here. It takes only 20 seconds to apply! Visit our informational page for more details or contact Paige Perdue. Thanks in advance for your participation!

LOWER SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Lower School students have been hard at work preparing for their 2020 Christmas Concert! This virtual celebration will be shared with all Lower School families on Tuesday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m. via email and Google Classroom. Gather round with your family to watch the inspiring and uplifting performances by our Lower School students as they encourage us to remember the true reason for the Christmas season. The link to the Lower School Christmas Concert will also be shared with the Whitefield community in the December 17 edition of the WolfPack Weekly.

GRANDPARENTS DAY
Lower School Grandparents Day will have a special virtual event this year! In mid-March 2021, grandparents will receive a package in the mail containing something special from your grandchild and a QR code to watch a Grandparents Day video featuring our Lower School students. With the changes to this event, we need help from our parents to gather mailing addresses and email addresses for your child's grandparent(s). Please use this form to share grandparent contact info. For those students without living grandparents or families who choose not to include a grandparent for this year's virtual event, please ONLY enter your child's information and choose "No" for participating. This will signal to our team to exclude any mailer/email for your child.

The deadline for form completion is Friday, December 4, and we ask that every Lower School family complete the form. Thank you for your help in making this event memorable for our grandparents!  Please contact Lani Gertz or Lindsey Uhl, Grandparents Day co-chairs, if you have any questions.

VARSITY FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS

The WolfPack varsity football team heads back to state playoffs this week for round 2 against Trinity Christian! The game starts tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Christian School. EVERYONE is welcome to attend this game as the state playoffs have not limited the number of fans in the stands. Purchase your tickets here! There is limited visitor bleacher space, so fans are encouraged to bring chairs to sit on the track. For those who can't make it to the game, click here to access the livestream through the NFHS Network (please note: if you did not buy an NFHS subscription last week, it is $10.99/month now that we are post-season; if you did buy it last week, you will be good to go for this week!)

LIVESTREAM WHITEFIELD ATHLETICS
As a general rule, in-person attendance at home Whitefield athletic events is limited to immediate family of players and cheerleaders. While the majority of the Whitefield community is currently not able to attend WolfPack athletic events in person, we appreciate all of you cheering on our athletes from your homes as you livestream the basketball, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, and wrestling teams - we hear your cheers and feel your support!

General details and links for our video webcasts can be found here. You can also click on any athletic event on the Whitefield Athletics Calendar to access a livestream link under each applicable game or match. Please note: all home games of basketball, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, and wrestling have livestream access, while only some away games have livestream access.

SPIRIT YARD SIGNS
Spirit Yard Signs are now available for all WINTER sports. Spirit signs are a great way to promote Whitefield athletics and support your athlete. Winter sports include basketball, cheerleading, swimming, and wrestling. Click here to place an order. The deadline for all orders is Sunday, December 6 at 11:59 p.m. Please contact Addie Cochran with any questions.

MEN'S FRATERNITY
Fridays, 6 a.m. via Zoom
Whitefield Men’s Fraternity brings men together in fellowship to strengthen our relationships with our families, whom we are called to lead courageously with Jesus Christ as our cornerstone.  Men's Fraternity is looking forward to meeting in person again but is continuing to build community with our dads virtually. We've recently been studying an excellent video series by Dr. Tony Evans and Tim Tebow as we continue our quest to strengthen our families and communities in Christ. Reach out to Jason Watson if you want to be added to our mailing and meeting list.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

PARENT PRAYER GROUP
Thursdays, 8:30-9 a.m. via Zoom
All parents are invited to the Whitefield Parent Prayer Group as we pray for our students, faculty, and school community. If you weren't able to participate today, we'd love to see you next Thursday morning! For questions, contact Byron Johnson.

WELCOME BACK UPPER SCHOOL!
After a week of virtual learning followed by a week of Thanksgiving Break, Upper School students returned to campus on Tuesday eager to resume face-to-face learning. Students in the Morris Hall lobby are physically distanced as they study and read, surrounded by student artwork and natural light from the Upper School's bright windows.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Thank you to all the PreK, Middle School, and Upper School students who participated in the Operation Christmas Child shoebox drive! In all, Whitefield collected a whopping 711 shoeboxes! These boxes will be sent out all over the world through Samaritan's Purse to impoverished children throughout the globe, providing them not only with a special gift, but also sharing the Good News of Christ.

A big shout-out goes to the Upper School Hands and Feet service team and Middle School Student Government who collaborated to organize the drive. Members of Hands and Feet met with Whitefield's PreK classes to help them pack boxes and share the love of "others ahead of self" with our youngest students.

After collecting the shoeboxes and loading them up to leave campus, students prayed over the boxes and for the young boys and girls who will receive them.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS TENNIS GOES TO METRO 10
The Middle School boys tennis team advanced to the Metro 10 Tournament semi-finals on Tuesday. They fell short to Fellowship Christian but played a great match. Coach Fossas says that despite the loss, everyone played better against the opponent during this match than they did two weeks ago, and all of these boys have so much to be proud of. Congrats on a great season!

SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTS - LOWER SCHOOL PREPARES FOR CHRISTMAS CONCERT
I’m Marie Baughman, and I’m so excited to be the new Lower School Art Teacher. Thanks so much for the warm welcome this year! Whitefield's Lower School Art classes have been working on Christmas/Winter themed artwork for our virtual Christmas Concert coming up soon. They’ve been drawing, painting, working on collages, and even glittering it up in the art room for the past few weeks! Pictured is 4th grader Brian Horner creating a torn paper collage.

CCYA PAJAMA PANTS CHALLENGE
Today, the Upper School is participating in a service fundraiser benefitting the Center for Children and Young Adults, a local home for abused, neglected, and at-risk children and teens. Upper School students made a donation of $1 or more to wear pajama pants or sweatpants to school for a day. All donations will help provide after-school snacks, new bed pillows, blankets, toothpaste, and toothbrushes for the homeless children and teens that CCYA serves. Thank you to the Upper School Hands and Feet service team for organizing this fundraiser!
