First, From the Heart

We all want to be compassionate leaders. We all know it’s time to step up and bring the change we want to see/be in the world. But where do we begin? What is the path that each of us are meant to forge from the circumstances that surround us today, to the future we want to create?

The road is long, with many a winding turn, as the Hollies sang in 1970. Perhaps 2020 brought more unexpected turns than anyone could have imagined, yet here we are. What’s next? Get clarity on your intention by asking your heart. Decide where to focus your attention, energy, and resources. And support each other on the journey of compassionate leadership.

Practice Matters

Trust Within

How do we trust what has always felt like truth? Most of what we presume is solid, or reliable, or safe, may no longer be so. Change is always in motion, yet we are often uncomfortable celebrating the impermanence of everything. We fall back into old patterns and beliefs systems that were never ours to begin with.

Where can we turn now to feel the peace within? The stillness lies beneath the fear and doubt, embodied in our being, awaiting our arrival. Then, in the quiet, we can be with what truly is ours alone. We can embrace our deep knowing, without even knowing how we know. Trusting completely. That’s where peace, truth, and love reside.

When can we practice? Always!

The Power Paradox: How we gain and lose influence
by Dacher Keltner

The same attributes that cause individuals to gain power are attributes that are undermined once one has achieved a position of power.
