2021/2022 TADS Re-Enrollment

A heads up that enrollment for the 2021/2022 school year will begin in a few weeks for our GCA families! Keep an eye out for an email from TADS providing you with a link to begin the registration process. You must re-enroll if you wish for your scholar(s) to return to GCA for the next school year. Enrollment will be done entirely online through TADS again and we hope you find it to be a smooth process, as you should be able to bypass some of the information that has already been saved for your family. Please note it is imperative that you re-enroll quickly in order to secure a spot for your scholar(s), as there will be limited spaces available in the classrooms.

Scrip Cards (aka Stocking Stuffers)

We now have a number of Scrip gift cards available for purchase in the office. Each card is purchased at face value with a % of that purchase returning directly back to GCA. Below is a list of what is now available for purchase (cash or check made payable to "GCA Foundation"). Please contact Miss Penny or Julie Crain if you are interested.

GCA Winter Uniforms (Dec. 1 - Feb. 28)

With December quickly approaching, we want to remind you about our winter school uniform policy, as outlined in the GCA Handbook. This means knee-high socks, tights or leggings (solid white, navy, black or gray***) are required for girls if they are wearing uniform plaid jumpers/kilts, or skorts. For boys, this means long pants are now required - no shorts. No shorts for girls as well. On PE days for grades 3-8, scholars are to wear navy sweatpants (no PE shorts) with their Grace logo sweatshirt. Note: A Grace logo T-shirt may be worn under the sweatshirt.

We will still follow the Spirit Wear Friday guidelines in the winter months for what scholars can wear, except for no shorts. Only uniform dress pants, solid navy denim jeans, or PE sweatpants are to be worn on Spirit Wear Fridays.

***Yes, due to popular demand, we are now allowing "gray" as an extra hosiery color choice for our scholars :)

Grandparents Day

Thank you to everyone who participated in last week's Virtual Grandparents Day. We would have preferred to deliver hugs in person, but were glad to be able to give our grandparents and grand people a small glimpse into a school day.

COVID-19 UPDATE:

Current COVID-19 activity in Fairfax County is at an all-time high. Please continue to be diligent and maintain protective behaviors in your home and community. Continue to wear face coverings, maintain a safe distance from people who are not in your immediate household, and wash hands frequently. If you plan to travel internationally during the Christmas break, please contact Julie Crain beforehand. jcrain@graceva.org, or call 703-534-5517.

GCA is prepared to transition to distance learning should the state revert to phase two restrictions after the holiday. We are hopeful this will not be the case, but it is recommended that your family also have a plan should we need to switch to distance learning.

Registración para el año escolar 2021-22

Para las familias de los escolares de GCA, la registración para el próximo año comenzará dentro de algunas semanas. Estén pendientes por un email de TADS, el cual les proporcionará un enlace para comenzar el proceso de registración. Es necesario que hagan la registración para que sus escolares puedan volver. Una vez más este año, la registración se hará en linea con TADS y debe ser un proceso simple, ya que su información estará en el sistema. De nuevo, ¡es importante que se registren para reservar el cupo, ya que habrá espacio limitado durante el próximo año!

Uniformes (Dec. 1 - Feb. 28)

Les recordamos de la política del colegio para uniformes durante el invierno. Los muchachos y las muchachas ya no pueden usar pantalones cortos. Para los días de PE, los escolares pondrán ropa sudadera con el logo tipo de GCA.

Seguiremos las mismas normas acostumbradas para los viernes de Spirit Wear—incluyendo solamente pantalones de uniforme, jeans o sudadera de PE.

Día de los Abuelos

Gracias a todos los que participaron la semana pasada en el virtual Día de los Abuelos. A pesar de que nos hubiera gustado compartir abrazos personales, nos encantó poder dar a los abuelos y a los demás un vistazo de un día típico en GCA.

Boletín – COVID-19:
