It's the end of tumultuous 2020. Here's to better days ahead!
Luminaria Rides Cancelled
Another ride, ruined by the 'Rona. We're sad to say we're just not able to hold our annual bike ride through the Willo neighborhood this year. If you want to organize your own run, the Willo luminarias will be lit December 23 - 26.
Bridge Access Improved
In happier news, an eagle-eyed Phoenix Spokes Peep noticed the access ramp for the 10th Street bicycle/pedestrian bridge over I-10 has been widened. Wahoo! #accessthepower #bikesbuildcommunity #letsroll
Phoenix Launches Pilot Program
The City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department is accepting applications for the Shared Streets for Social Distancing pilot program. The goal is to temporarily restrict certain streets to local traffic, creating space to walk, run, bike, etc. while complying with social distancing guidelines. Residents may nominate streets by completing an application by 5 p.m. December 31. 
Culdesac Likes Bikes
Here's some cute "land art" by the new Culdesac, in Tempe - the first car-free neighborhood built from scratch in the US! Thanks to Tempe Bike Action group for the pic.
Nice Racks!
The Hudson Eatery & Bar in Tempe recently installed rack space for 30 bikes! Can you say Happy Hour?! 
Grid Bikes Folding
GRID Bike Share is concluding its operations in Phoenix and Tempe on December 31, 2020. The City of Phoenix plans to use this as an opportunity to reimagine micromobility and multimodal options in the ever-changing urban transportation landscape.
Phoenix Updating Downtown Plan
The City of Phoenix is updating its Downtown Transportation Plan. In the virtual presentation, specifically at 8:20 and 5:18, there is a disappointing focus on "level of service" i.e. how cars are impacted by changes. Keep trying, PHX.
