Youth Ministry

Backyard S'mores, December 6 from 5-6pm

This Sunday the high school and middle school youth are enjoying separate backyard s'mores events.  The high school youth will be at Lucas Hay's home.  The middle school youth will be at Charlie Hider's home.  Please use your ChurchLife app to confirm the Hay and Hider family addresses or contact James Rogers (high school youth event) or Megan Boucher (middle school youth event).

All youth participants need to have a completed 2020-2021 Youth Permission and Release Statement on file.  As usual we will be following our church's Guidelines for Resuming In Person Youth Group Activities

  1. In person youth group activities are held outside and ordinarily limited to one hour per event.
  2. Non-contact temperature checks of all participants are taken upon arrival by a designated youth leader.  Those with a temperature of 100.3 degrees Fahrenheit or less are allowed to participate.
  3. All participants are required to wear masks.  Masks can only be removed to eat or drink (and with adherence to social distancing requirements of maintaining a distance of six feet away from anyone outside one’s family).
  4. Physical contact is prohibited (high fives, fist bumps, hugs, etc.).
  5. Those who are sick, especially vulnerable to COVID-19, or uncomfortable with in person activities should inform a youth leader and only participate in virtual youth group activities.

December 13, 12:30-1:30pm

Youth group is early on December 13, as we gather in the Kirk House courtyard to prepare luminaries for this year's Christmas Eve 5pm Journey to Bethlehem Outdoor Walk Through Service.  Using white bags, art supplies, and symbols of Christmas, we'll create a lighted path for those attending on Christmas Eve.   A limited number of boxed lunches (soup and bread) are available for those interested, however, they need to be reserved using our Soup Lunch SignUpGenius form.  Snacks will be available for those not eating lunch.

Will There Be Room at the Inn?

In order to maintain a safe level of attendance at each of our Christmas Eve services, we are asking that people make a reservation as soon as possible to attend our 3pm & 9pm traditional services in the sanctuary or our Journey to Bethlehem, an outdoor nine stop Christmas story pilgrimage through the church property, with available times beginning at 5pm.  Should a service eventually fill up and spots be unavailable, please contact Anne Smith to express your interest in attending a specific service! Your communication will be important as we continue to manage and evaluate our Christmas Eve schedule. Please also note that our 3pm and 9pm services will be livestreamed.

Cast Members and Set Designers Needed!

While many people will choose to walk through the outdoor Journey to Bethlehem as participants, is your family interested in being cast members for one of our nine scenes?  We need people to play the roles of shepherds, angels, wise men, Mary and Joseph, etc.  We are also in need of individuals who could help with decorations.  If you are interested in this opportunity or have questions, please contact James Rogers
