Happy Computer Science Education Week! CSEdWeek is an opportunity for students, families, and the community to come together to learn something new and understand that computer science, or CS, is for everyone! CSEdWeek is held each year during Grace Hopper’s birthday. Grace Hopper was a U.S. naval officer and mathematician who was a pioneer in computer science, and developed a program that translates programming code into machine language.
During CSEdWeek people across the world host an Hour of Code, a national movement to help demystify computer science and show that anyone can learn to code. This year CSEdWeek is Dec. 7-13, 2020, but activities can be completed at any time.
