Tier one in Cornwall

Cornwall has been placed in tier one, meaning we are in an area of medium risk.

This is testament to the hard work of everyone here in Cornwall to ensure the spread of covid has been minimised. Let’s keep it that way.

On Tuesday we hosted a live broadcast on our Facebook page, which addressed questions around what tier one means for us all. You can watch the video here. For an update on our local restrictions hit the button below.

Visiting Cornwall

Much like summer in Cornwall, the end of the lockdown has raised concerns about tourism and the impact of receiving visitors from other tiers.

We've put together some guidance on travelling between tiers to help keep everyone safe and stop the spread of Covid-19.

If travelling to Cornwall from another tier, you must follow your regional rules.

Shop local this Christmas

As high streets begin to reopen and with Christmas less than three weeks away, we have some choices to make about how we go about our Christmas shopping.

It’s been a difficult year financially for many, which is why we’re calling on Cornwall to #KeepItCornish this Christmas and support our local independent businesses who have had such a tough time already. If you’re shopping for gifts, try buying local first and make sure you share your favourite sellers and makers on social media – it can really help.
Keep It Cornish

Cornwall needs you now

We continue to focus on supporting the care system here in Cornwall.

There remains a shortfall of people working in the sector so we’re continuing to raise awareness through our Cornwall Needs You Now campaign. If you are looking to change career path or get back into work then this might be just the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

How clear are the guidelines?

As of Wednesday, 2 December Cornwall is one of just two counties under tier one (medium risk) restrictions. We again want to know if you feel like the guidelines are clear to you?

Absolutely clear to me

I’m not totally sure I understand them all

We aim to make the first payments by the end of this week and these should be in bank accounts by Tuesday, December 8. We will email those businesses due to receive a payment.

If you don't receive an email this week, please be assured that we are assessing your application and will come back to you with a decision as soon as we can.
