A LETTER FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL, RICHARD DE LA CUADRA

Xavier families -

As we near the end of 2020, I can't help but reminisce about the numerous ways you all stood proud and tall through this year's constant unpredictability. I am so proud of the Xavier community for coming together and supporting our students and faculty during the seemingly endless transitions and adaptations required of us. I know our students are in their best academic standing despite this year's challenges because of the solid support system they had in you.

Though it is almost time for us to go our separate ways as winter break approaches, I'm hoping we can join forces for the final time this year to spread holiday cheer. This holiday season, Xavier will be hosting an Adopt a Family Drive to provide gifts and supplies to families in need at Sunlight Manor in Lake Charles, LA. We have 30 families in need of the very necessities we often take for granted and it is my hope that the Xavier family can come together and be a light during this difficult time. We are accepting donations until Dec.17, 2020 and will deliver all gifts received by the deadline on Dec. 22. If you are interested in participating, please fill out this Google form and contact Latasha with any questions. Additionally, if you would prefer to contribute financially, you are welcome to donate here.

Looking ahead, I am excited to see what 2021 has in store for Xavier. Though we are still finalizing the official date, this is a reminder that we will be moving to our new campus in the upcoming year. Our new location will have ample space, allowing us to fully implement social distancing and COVID safety measures. Our students' health and safety remain our top priority as we prepare for the move.

Once again, thank you for your support, perseverance, and flexibility throughout the year. Have a wonderful holiday break and I will see you in the new year!

-Richard

SUPPORT OUR XAVIER COMMUNITY

Lindsey Day here! I'm reaching out to invite your child to participate in my Comprehensive Wellness/ Nutrition Class this spring semester.

I truly believe that for us as individuals to reach our potential and live our lives to the fullest, we must take care of ourselves with proper nutrition and lifestyle habits (sleep, exercise, movement, healthy relationships, etc.). This is the core of what I’ll be teaching in my class this year.

If you or your family has a health/nutrition question or would like me to share any tips, food shopping lists or recipe ideas - please email me: lindseyday@xavieracademy.org
