When trying to preserve affordable housing, no two communities – or efforts – are alike. That’s why CDFIs and community partners are joining forces to uncover opportunities for housing preservation – from basements to city blocks! Topics will include:

  • Funding major rehabs to bring buildings back from the brink;
  • Targeting desirable properties to combat gentrification; and
  • Legalizing basement apartments to foster affordability.

The talk was tailored to members and supporters of the Coalition, a nonprofit association that provides advocacy and resources for New York’s community development financial institutions.

NYS CDFI Assistance Program
Applications Due January 6 by 3:00 p.m.

On Friday afternoon, Empire State Development released the Notice of Funding Availability for  NYS certified Community Development Financial Institutions that make loans to small businesses. Additional information is available on the New York State Contract Reporter, here

Up to $1,495,000 in grant support is available to to certified Community Development Financial Institutions that make loans to small businesses. The purpose of ESD’s Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Assistance Program (the “Program”) is to strengthen and expand the capacity, products, and services of certified CDFIs’ lending programs for small businesses and/or minority and women business enterprises (collectively “M/WBEs”) throughout New York State.

Due Date: 01/6/2021 3:00 PM
On or before January 6, 2021 at 3 pm EST. Applications must be emailed by this date and time. Late applications cannot be accepted
Contract term: 1 year
County(ies): All NYS counties
Location: Throughout NYS
