December Training-of-Trainers
The highly effective COVID-19 Competency Training-of-Trainers (ToT) Program continues with another session in Bangladsh during December 7-10.
Initiated in April as a collaboration between HAEFA, Brown University, and Project HOPE, this December training has been updated with new treatment and IPC Guidelines. The program uses the Training-of-Trainers model to engage master trainers and coach new trainers, ensuring that Bangladesh’s healthcare workers are prepared to combat the spread of COVID-19. The first Brown University TOT sessions run by Bangladeshi clinicians will be in early January 2021. To read more about this training program, kindly visit our website at www.haefa.org.
COVID-19 Relief
Two cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the Rohingya camps on May 15, 2020. HAEFA and other aid agencies are doing everything they can to curb a massive outbreak of COVID-19 in the camps, but the conditions in the camps make this nearly impossible. ⁣
NIROG has proved an essential asset in tracking the spread of COVID-19 through the camps and monitoring patients' symptoms (learn more about HAEFA’s novel electronic medical record system). HAEFA has also sourced and imported 10,000 KN95 masks for free distribution in national hospitals & rural health centers in 20 Bangladeshi districts, and has sent $89,000 to support healthcare workers and patients' safety in light of the pandemic.
