With immense sadness, we wish to inform you that our dear Kaumātua, Tuki Takiwa passed away on Friday, 4 December 2020. Koro Tuki was well respected and was a shining light and kaikarakia to many kaupapa in Paraparaumu and Te upoko o te ika and will be greatly missed. As an Iwi, we will forever be indebted to his commitment, love and wisdom he imparted to our Marae, on our paepae and to our people for many years. To Aunty Pauline and whānau Takiwa, we thank you for sharing such a great man with us and we send our love to you all at this difficult time.
As our Marae is unavailable, his tangihanga will be held at the Mokopuna Marae, Kia Aio te noho. There will be a Mass at the Marae tonight at 5.00pm followed by he pō whakamutunga before he returns to his people; te iwi o Ngāti Tūwharetoa on Monday.
