Despite 2020’s shortfalls & obstacles, Play Like a Girl continues to make an impact
2020 has been a year fraught with challenges for many. Play Like a Girl is no exception. We had to cancel most programs and events back in March. With few resources and little time to prepare, we pivoted from in-person to virtual programs by summer. And, today, we have a growing budget shortfall of over $150,000.
Despite these challenges, we’re still living out our mission and showing girls that we, too, can persevere through difficulty. Why? Because Play Like a Girl’s work is more urgent now than ever before.
Working with only a skeleton staff, we’re helping to bridge digital divides and provide much-needed programs and resources to girls during this difficult time. We’ve even partnered with businesses like Amazon to provide critical educational resources to many of our girls.
