Starting Thursday, Nov. 12th, The Johnston Partnership is switching back to serving clients outside the pantry. Staff and volunteers will be the only ones allowed inside. We are highly encouraging phone-ahead orders or emailed orders. We also have order forms to complete at our front door. All of the same items are available, including clothing and personal care, as when we are open. We will have volunteers fill orders, and they will be available to pick up outside of the exit door.

Phone ahead orders should call 515-528-2379 or 515-868-1357 between 8am-2pm Monday-Friday. Email orders to andrea@johnstonpartnership.org. Deliveries can still be made (once a calendar month) on Thursdays and Saturdays. Food & clothing order forms can still be found on our website www.johnstonpartnership.org

Clients will still be expected to provide information on household members including DOB and address. Please bring IDs along with you for anyone you want served! We will do our best to get your needed items to you in a timely fashion. With colder weather upon us, you may want to wait in your car if you didn't call us ahead of time to prepare your order.

At this time, we will continue to accept all donations, but please limit clothing donations to 5 bags or less. This is subject to change, so please be patient with us 🙂

Thank you all for your help and support. Stay well!!

The Johnston Partnership Board of Directors wants to thank each and every one of you for your support throughout this crazy year. 2020 has been like none other and without your donations, volunteering and monetary support, we would not be able to continue helping those in need in our community.

You are all amazing! Thank you!

Johnston Lions Club always remembers us. Thank you for your constant support!

St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Johnston is hosting the 7th annual Johnston Alternative Gift Market online this year and will be open through the Holiday Season! This unique shopping experience offers shoppers the ability to purchase a “gift” that directly benefits a local or international organization, in honor of relatives and friends. In total, 14 local non-profits will be on site with holiday alternative gifts. Gifts from 30 international non-profits will also be available. Last year over $14,000 worth of life-changing gifts were given!

Shoppers can purchase polio vaccines for children, veterinarian care for animals, meals for the homeless, school supplies for local children and many other options. Loved ones who are honored can receive an attractive holiday card and an insert explaining how their gift helped someone in need.

“During the Christmas season, we all get so much stuff…who needs another sweater?” said Bill O’Connell, pastor at St. Paul. “This is a chance to give a gift to someone who truly needs it.”

Visit http://www.johnstonagm.org/ and shop online. 100% of proceeds will go directly to the organization.

We are excited to partner with the following organizations participating in the Alternative Gift Market: Alternative Gifts International, Animal Rescue League, Central Iowa Shelter Services, ChildServe, Count The Kicks, CROSS Outreach, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity, Hope Ministries, Genesis Youth Foundation, Johnston Partnership, Ronald McDonald House, Rotary Club of Johnston, Self-Help International, Nature Bags, and Veterans in Agriculture.

Honor those who have enough by giving to those who have too little. Add the Alternative Gift Market to your shopping list!

So thankful for Lutheran Church of Hope- Grimes
They helped fill our shelves with all kinds of personal care, cleaning and paper products.

Thank you Johnston Area Democrats for your continued support of our work!
*Mayor's Run For Food*

Mayor Paula Dierenfeld is at it again for the eighth year in a row! She has issued another challenge to Johnston residents this holiday season in support of the Johnston Partnership. The Mayor will run one mile (beginning on New Year’s Eve) for every bag of food, personal items, or $10 donated to the Johnston Partnership Food Pantry between December 1st and 30th. 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥 this year 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬. The community delivered tremendously last year, and we hope we can count on your support again this year!

*New* Johnston Partnership

Just a reminder, we have left Suite D and moved to Suite C, next to the post office. Our new space is nearly double the square footage as our previous space, and this is the 1st time the Johnston Partnership has had a space designed specifically for our needs! Clients will enter on the east side of the building and donors will come to a door on the west side.

Winter coats!! Boots!! Snowpants!! Did you know that we give away almost 600 of these items each fall/winter? Please think of us when cleaning out your closets. We accept all sizes of winter gear, plus gloves, scarves and hats - worthy of a sledding day at recess or standing out at a bus stop - during our operating hours: Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays 9am-1pm
We so appreciate the donation of 350 pounds of dog food by Westfield Veterinary Hospital to the Johnston Partnership! It is so nice that our furry friends are remembered during this pandemic!

A HUGE thank you to Melissa Jacobsen for donating a dryer and securing a new washer from Warners' Stellian Appliance for the Partnership! This is going to be so very helpful, especially for our volunteers in the Clothing Closet!

We have additional volunteer needs in our new space.
