Greetings <<First Name>>,
I hope you are well and looking forward to Christmas. 2020 has been a busy year for me, I've been working on a new project to utilise more of the New Zealand Riverwood that has been filling up my woodshed. So without further ado, I would like to introduce my first Limited Edition Series of electric guitar models.
Now, I want to say right from the get-go that I have not set out to reinvent the electric guitar, and I make no claim to originality. Rather, it has given me the opportunity to express my thoughts on the electric guitar, some of which will be familiar but there are a few things in the design, both upfront and behind the scenes, that I have added for my own reasons, both aesthetic and functional. This project has also afforded me an opportunity to showcase some of the extraordinary timber that I have been lucky enough to get my hands on over the last few years, but which I could not use for my acoustic models, most notably is the figured totara you see on the guitar(#001) below.

All wood components (except the ancient kauri) are NZ Riverwood including the wood binding and, for the first time, the fingerboard. I have used some straight-grained matai or rimu NZ Riverwood for the main body and neck.
The binding is either tanekaha from the Motuhake tree or some gorgeous golden river matai. The tops are a selection of figured river totara and two have character pieces of ancient kauri (because.....why not!).
There are five instruments in this first series of Limited Edition instruments. They are similar but with no two the same.

But these guitars are not just pretty faces, they are designed from the ground up and, if you want to get a handle on the concept, I guess you could sum it up by saying this is the electric guitar I would build for myself, both aesthetically and functionally, after over 25 years of thinking about it!

All top-of-the-line hardware:
- Anderson pickups made in the USA which Tom Anderson, himself, helped select for these models.
I have added switching to split each humbucker to single coils and the pickup selector combines neck and bridge positions independent of single-coil or humbucker configuration. A blower switch is also incorporated that sends a direct signal from the bridge pickup at full throttle, bypassing all other controls save the tone.
- 510 series Gotoh tremolo and tuning machines in cosmo black.
- Stainless steel frets and a two-stage, parabolic neck relief profile allow for super low action.

The design itself references a mix of my favourite electric designs with some subtle tweaks that tie everything together into what I think is a classy and very functional instrument.
What you can't see is the concealed hollow body construction which reduces weight and, coupled with the length of the upper horn and the reduced weight and size of the headstock, results in a very well-balanced instrument.  And lastly, to add a bit of magic, I have designed these guitars around a 25 11/40" scale length. I know the guitar geeks are scratching their heads at this point and saying "why not 25 1/4"?"
But, I am not going to tell you :-) ... except to say that it gives the instruments a slightly different feel and character because....well, why not?

I am not rushing to sell #001, and I might keep one more in stock as a demo model, but the rest are for sale now and will be up on my website in a few days. But as a subscriber to my newsletter you get first notice so, if you are interested, now is the time to send me an email before I go public on the website in a few days with more photos and information.

They are priced individually and start at $3600.
Please contact me for further information.

Merry Christmas!
