Happy Monday, <<First Name>>.

They were both on QAV last week! I know - not a great joke. But hey - it's Monday morning. Cut me some slack.

Last week was relatively modest for the AORD...

... but our portfolio had a great week - according to Sharesight (which I just started using last week - don't forget to take up their special QAV offer), our portfolio is up 22.60% this FY.

As always, a reminder for new subscribers:

If you're looking for more content where Tony talks about the basics of his thinking about investing, don't forget to check out our archives. Scroll through our 2019 episodes and you'll find that's all we did in our first ~50 shows. We covered a ton of stuff. If you get through that 50 hours and still need more clarification, shoot us an email! Tony is always happy to revisit stuff to help clarify anything that's confusing, but our current episodes assume you already understand the basics.

Have a good week!
Cameron
Yes We Kynaston!
Last week was big in terms of Tony's public profile (something he's never been too keen on having, but I've twisted his arm and convinced him it's for the good of the world).

He was a guest on Ausbiz, talking a little about his approach to stock analysis.

And he also contributed an article for the ASA magazine, EQUITY. Thanks to Steve Mabb for helping set that up.

QAV S03E58 – Halloween Pumpkin
Last week we discussed the current status of the Zimplats (ZIM) audit, Tony’s stock of the week, his recent journal entries, Kelly Partners (KPG), GuruFocus, and the KMD CEO. And Jenny’s book, The Gist Of Generosity, which is available now.
Oh - you want charts? We have you covered.

QAV S03E59 – Cameron Williams

Our guest last week was Cameron Williams, sports editor at Channel Nine. You’ve probably seen him on The Today Show or Nine News. We talk about growing up in Emerald and how he ended up in a sports journalism career. Of course there’s some talk about horses and boxing, but there’s also a fair amount of talk about investing, how to teach your kids about money and entrepreneurship, why he’s a fan of Tony’s QAV approach – and how TV celebrities buy underwear.
TK JOURNAL
Tony's journal entries last week involved notes about SFR, VUK, NZO, HUM, INIF, FXL, MOGL, API, S32, IKW, and KMD.

As always, please remember - these shouldn't be considered as stock tips, they are more like good places to start your own research for the week if you're in a buying mood. And we mostly publish them to provide transparency around what Tony is doing with his own portfolio and what we do with the QAV portfolio.
FACEBOOK GROUP HIGHLIGHTS
On our FB group last week, Justin asked about MRM's capital raising; Carl shared his approach to using the 3PTL on SSG; and I posted that we are thinking about doing a live event in Melbourne in early January and that we are looking for a good place to have a BBQ.

Catch up on our Facebook page discussions here.
BRAIN FOOD
This video of Buffett and Gates taking live questions looks like it's probably about 20 years old, but I love how Warren defines "success". Check it out below.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"In the United States, a person or institution with almost all wealth invested long-term, in just three fine domestic corporations, is securely rich. And why should such an owner care if, at any time, most other investors are faring somewhat better or worse? And particularly so when he rationally believes, like Berkshire, that his long-term results will be superior by reason of his lower costs, required emphasis on long-term effects, and concentration in his most preferred choices."

- Charlie Munger, Poor Charlie' Almanack

MARKETING THE MESSIAH ON PRIME
The film we produced earlier this year (I wrote and directed, Tony financed) Marketing The Messiah is now available to stream on Amazon Prime! It's a secular documentary about how a fringe Jewish cult in the backwaters of Roman empire evolved into Christianity. Watch it today and tell your friends!
