Welcome to 2021 and now is the time to ensure your LGBTQ-inclusivity.
In this issue, we want to assist you to:
  • Baseline your current inclusion and use this as a gap analysis for your upcoming work.
  • Lock in the LGBTQ days of significance that you want to acknowledge or celebrate in 2021 (lists below)
  • Work out when your team will be trained all LGBTQ inclusion
  • Get support and mentoring if you need it

Benchmarking your LGBTQ-inclusive service provision. Free Gap Analysis!

Submission for the index and application for the surveys are now open!

Now (while it is relatively quiet) is a great time to put together your HWEI index submission or to send out our staff or client HWEI surveys.

You have until 12th March to complete these (in any combination) to have ACON's Pride in Health + Wellbeing Program benchmark your inclusion.

Each month we will be holding online Q&A sessions for anyone who is interested to attend. You can find out if the HWEI is for you, ask questions about the index, evidence or surveys. You can remain anonymous if you wish. Register now for the upcoming sessions.

LGBTQ Days of Significance

LGBTQ days of significance occur throughout the year. They are great learning opportunities and also often align with LGBTQ communities celebrations.
Why not plan which days of significance you are going to acknowledge in 2021.

Training and Support

Many organisations will find that they need additional staff training and ongoing organisational support in developing and embedding LGBTQ-inclusive practices. no matter where you are in your inclusion journey Pride in Health + Wellbeing can support you.

Pride in Health + Wellbeing provides their members with support hours to not only undertake training, but to go beyond training to the development of policy, forms, databases, ally networks, feedback mechanisms, measurement and reporting metrics,  risk management frameworks and through embedding LGBTQ-inclusion into the business-as-usual (BAU).

The program is suitable for all organisation in the health, welfare or human services sector, from government, peak bodies, NGOs and direct care providers. Pride in Health + Wellbeing will assist you in ensuring your organisation is inclusive of LGBTQ people, embedding it in all aspects of your organisation; from direct care provision, policy and processes design, quality improvement planning, advocacy, as well as personalised staff development and training.
 

NDIS Provider Toolkit

ACON released its National NDIS Provider Toolkit in December - Queer Ability.

The toolkit assists providers and those who are eligible for NDIS support, to understand the system, the language used, eligibility and LGBTQ inclusion.
