Creating our health together

Art, design, tech, healthcare… the past few months have been rich in events and cross-disciplinary collaborations for echOpen community. Please discover our latest activities as we approach the end of 2020!
Open science meets Healthcare at the Geneva Health Forum

echOpen took part in the Geneva Health Forum in November with the Open Village. A fully digital event to discover and experiment open-source projects for health.
During the forum we hold two virtual workshops:
  • A co-creativity workshop with forum participants to build the best training for paramedics in remote areas (click on the creativity board overview below to visualize all the contributions in details) ;
  • A virtual fablab to build an ultrasound phantom for procedural guidance training.
We are now working on new ways to explore healthcare as commons with the Open Village, we’ll keep you posted!
Midwives training and UX research with Africa Design School

Last week 15 students from Africa Design School worked on echOpen digital training during a 3-day workshop. They interviewed several midwives in their work place and used UX Research tools to better understand and design their needs and constraints.
Thanks to all of the students, YUX Design and Africa Design School for the great work!
ART4MED: interdisciplinary transnational cooperation between artists and the health sector

echOpen through its contribution to UNBORN0x9 is proud to be part of ART4MED, a European consortium whose goal is to experiment and disseminate methodologies where “art meets open science and technology in health and medical research”.

echOlab is now live on Github!

echOlab is our open-source modular hardware lab that enables everyone to make their own acoustic, software, and firmware experiments.
Thanks to Benoit, echOlab Box, and echOlab Phantom, the first two modules of echOlab, are now available on GitHub.
