Angel Tree at St. Joseph Church
Advent is next weekend. It is time to begin thinking of how we can help to make Christmas a little merrier for those who need our help!  Because of COVID restrictions, however, this year our Angel Tree will have to be done in a different way. Anyone interested in helping to organize this effort should contact drobinson@sjcpetersburg.com today. We will be assisting Filmore House and its 74 residents. They are in need of the following:
  • Men's Socks
  • Women's Socks
  • Hats
  • Gloves
  • Blankets
Please wrap your gifts, mark them as being appropriate for a man or a woman and drop them off in the box marked Angel Tree in the parish hall by December 18th.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact drobinson@sjcpetersburg.com.
Caroling!
Sunday, December 20th. Please join the St. Joseph Community as we carol in Old Towne.  Young and old alike are encouraged to be a part of this festive event.  We will begin our musical journey after the 11:30 AM Mass and return to the parish hall for hot cocoa and snacks.
For more information: amdonlon@sjcpetersburg.com.
Please note:
As universities close for on-site learning prior to Thanksgiving break, we will be hosting two seminarians immediately following the holiday. Please be on the lookout for seminarians Deacon Tom Lawrence (Theological College, CUA), Carl Thompson and Ian Grosskopf (Mount St. Mary's, Emmitsburg) around the parish. They will be staying in the rectory until the end of the semester in early December.

General Year-End Gift Giving
This is the season we give thanks to God for all He has done for us this past year and throughout our lives.  It is also a good time to begin considering how we might give back some of our wealth or assets to Him with a special year-end gift.  Offering a financial gift is a way to express gratitude to the Lord for these blessings.

Take advantage of the charitable tax deduction for gifts made before December 31 (benefits of income tax deductions, capital gains savings, and other financial benefits), and consider the variety of gift options available to you.  Your gift to your parish can make a great difference.  There are a variety of ways you can contribute a gift.  The easiest and most direct methods are donations of cash, stock and IRA Charitable Rollover.

For more information on how you can help make a difference by contributing a year-end gift to St. Joseph, please contact the parish office: (804) 733-3115.

Will you Give Catholic to support Saint Joseph Catholic School?
Thanks to the resilience of teachers and staff, the trust of parents and students, and the generous support of donors and friends, students and teachers are safely learning in-person at Saint Joseph School. 134 students are receiving a Catholic education. But we can't do it without you! On Giving Tuesday, December 1st, Saint Joseph Catholic School will participate in #iGiveCatholic, a 24-hour online giving campaign.
Your donation will help keep students learning in their classrooms, provide the tools and resources they need to succeed, and support tuition assistance so that every child can receive a quality Catholic education, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
You can give Nov 16th-Dec 1st. It's easy! Just click here: Or you can donate by cash or check to: St. Joseph School 123 Franklin St  Petersburg, VA 23803
