Welcome to November 29th Sunday Celebration

Season of Light (AHSCKNYE): Festival of Light

Please join us this week as we enter that special time of year that falls between Via Negativa and Via Creativa. Dubbed AHSCKNYE (Advent. Hanukkah, Solstice. Christmas. Kwanza. New Year. Epiphany) by our founder, Howard Hanger, our 2020-21 holiday theme is SEASON OF LIGHT.

And it all begins this Sunday with a FESTIVAL OF LIGHT, a special celebration led by many inspiring speakers, uplifting music and joyous festivity.   Leading this week's celebration are: Laura Collins, Aditi & Jay, Jay Joslin, Jackie Dobrinska, Laura Billings, Paula Sims, Yonah FrenchHawk, Tebbe Davis, The Jubilee Singers, Ron & Sharon Katz, Michelle Smith, Meta Commerse, Lauren Fortuna and Frank Marshall.

We invite you to have a candle to light in your own home during the ceremony.

Your friends and family are also welcome to join our lively, inspiring...and sometimes quirky...online celebration.  So spread the word, invite anyone you know from here in the mountains or anywhere in the world to share the love and light this Sunday.  Inviting folks is easy...just click the link below:

  Dedicating Our Gifts to God
Aditi & Jay

Here Comes The Sun
Here comes the sun, do, dun, do, do
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
(chorus)

Little darling, the smile's returning to their faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
 (chorus)

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes (x5)

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
(chorus x2)

This Week's Quotes

The reflection of light is what moves us.
 ~ Pierre Soulages

Maybe death isn't darkness, after all, but so much light wrapping itself around us.
~ Mary Oliver, "Owls and Other Fantasies," House of Light

Seeing into darkness is clarity.
Knowing how to yield is strength.
Use your own light and return to the source of light.
This is called practicing eternity.
 ~ Lao-tzu

Some nights, stay up till dawn.
As the moon sometimes does for the sun.
Be a full bucket pulled up the dark way of a well,
then lifted out into light.
~ Rumi

The sunrise can be a reminder of the day's gift because it comes unbidden.  We don't produce it.  The light is given.  The world is reborn each morning, and we are given a whole new time of opportunity.
~ Brother David Steindl-Rast, The Music of Silence
