#GivingTuesday
As some of you may be making your final charitable contributions for 2020, we hope that you'll consider chuthis. #GivingTuesday is a worldwide celebration of generosity, wherein people around the globe come together in unity to support communities and causes.
Throughout this difficult year, it has been heartbreaking to see dance organizations around us crumbling. While chuthis. has thus far managed to stay afloat, we are in need of financial support to continue our artistic and educational programming in 2021. We are currently planning for a safe in-person phase of our newest creation, Rhythmic Identity, in addition to other programming goals. We are aware that this is a difficult financial time for many, but if you are able, we hope you'll consider supporting us with a donation in any amount to help keep one small dance organization alive!

Join us December 4-6 for VIEWPOINT!
This weekend we launch the inaugural edition of VIEWPOINT, a Virtual Dance Festival!
Dancers: join us for an educational weekend focused on the process of artistry. Dance enthusiasts: join us for two afternoons of live-streamed performances!
VIEWPOINT is a Virtual Dance Festival curated and directed by Peter Chu, produced by ICoachDance, and hosted by chuthis. From December 4-6, festival participants will take part in workshop classes, lectures, interviews, and Q&A's. Joining chuthis. throughout the weekend are four incredible guest adjudicators: Chloe Arnold, Nan Giordano, Sumayah McRae, and Alexandra Wells! Each educator/adjudicator will teach a workshop class in addition to providing live adjudication during the festival performances.
Following the education-focused mornings described above, on December 5th & 6th, the festival will commence at 1:30pm PST. All are invited to join us in watching the live-streamed festival with performances by schools, studios, & professional companies from the US and abroad!

Princeton Dance Festival Reimagined
December 3-5, 2020
We'd like to congratulate Peter, his artistic collaborators & designers, and the Princeton movement artists on a successful performance of Welcome HOME: the Princeton Series last week! Live performance on Zoom is no easy feat, and it went beautifully. This performance was the kick-off to Princeton Dance Festival Reimagined. In case you missed the live performance, there are many other opportunities to engage with Princeton Dance Festival this week! Beginning December 3, there will be three nights of performances on Zoom, led by Francesca Harper, Rebecca Lazier & Dean Moss, and Silas Riener & Olivier Tarpaga. You will also be able to watch a video of the live performance of Welcome HOME..., edited by Lauren Berthelot, which will be shared later in the week.

Purchase College Fall Concert
December 11, 2020
As you may remember from our last newsletter, Peter Chu and chuthis. Company Member Jenni Gordon had the pleasure of working with 25 dancers from the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College this semester. The "movement video" project is also a collaboration with Media/Animation Artist and Editor Michael Cole, with additional videography from the cast members and Daniel Madoff. While creating virtually has its challenges; the incredibly hard workers at Purchase made the experience smooth, fulfilling, and memorable!
We want to send a huge thank you to the dancers for your creativity, openness, and work ethic, and to Ahna Bonnette, our student assistant, for being with us every step of the way. Additionally, we'd like to express our gratitude to Director of Dance Nelly Van-Bommel for welcoming us into Purchase College via Zoom this semester - what a ride!

Montclair State University Senior Showcase 2020
This semester, Peter has been working closely with Montclair State University BFA Dance Major Quashierra Muhammad (pictured below) to choreograph her Senior Solo. The piece, entitled Tracing Rhythms, will premiere in December as a part of the Dance Department's Senior Showcase. A huge thank you to Quashierra for your dedication to this work. All of us at chuthis. wish you "toi, toi, toi" for your performance!
