Dear <<First Name>>,

As you may know, Cambridge has been suffering from a decline in our shared urban forest, well documented in the Urban Forest Master Plan Technical Report in 2019 and follow-on release Healthy Forest, Healthy City.

Since then, we've had a temporary moratorium in anticipation of a new tree ordinance. The Covid crisis delayed some of that work but the Council's Health and Education Committee held hearings on Oct. 13 and Nov. 10. You can see the 11/10 slide presentation here.

You can help shape a new tree protection ordinance, and Green Cambridge and the Cambridge Residents Alliance are holding a Zoom community discussion of options for the Tree Protection Ordinance this Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 7 pm.

Please share this email widely and join in a focused discussion on options for a new ordinance.  We look forward to seeing you Dec. 1!

Thanks,
Steven Nutter, Green Cambridge
Lee Farris, CResA
