UC Davis Professor of Anthropology Alan Klima has won a 2020 Gregory Bateson Book Prize for Ethnography #9 (Duke University Press, 2019). The book, which is also available as an open-access PDF, uses multiple voices to study moneylending, gambling, funeral casinos and the consultation of spirits and mediums to predict winning lottery numbers.
