ENZAMET wins clinical trials award trifecta highlighting the importance of investigator-led research

Prostate cancer clinical trial ENZAMET has won a trifecta of prestigious awards at the 2020 Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) Summit. Pedal power raises $153,000 for enhanced prostate cancer patient care at Monash Health

Epworth joins research to help women in healthcare

Epworth HealthCare is collaborating on research to help advance women’s careers and leadership within healthcare. The National Health and Medical Research Council will provide two million dollars for this research, involving Epworth and three other health services from the Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre and Monash University. Continue reading »

SMICS 2019-2020 online annual forum “Ethical Considerations”

On 7 December, the Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (SMICS) premiered their annual forum online titled “Ethical Considerations”. Associate Professor Clare Delaney provided insight into the moral distress, anxiety and regret that Victorian cancer healthcare workers have faced during COVID-19, and are likely to face in the future with the expected surge in delayed cancer diagnoses.

The SMICS forum also showcased the pilot of a new radiological report to define resectability of non metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcenoma (PDAC) developed in partnership with the Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Registry (UGICR), North Eastern Integrated Cancer Service (NEMICS) and the Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (SMICS). The MPCCC extends gratitude to the many people who have made its achivements throughout 2020 possible. We wish our community a peaceful break over the Christmas and new year period, and look forward to continuing our work towards improving the lives of people affected by cancer in 2021.

VCCC Steering Committee Expressions of Interest Open

Following the announcement of funding for the VCCC in the recent Victorian Budget, expressions of interest are now open for experts to join nine new program steering groups to finalise the new Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Strategic Program Plan 2021-2024. Submit EOI now »

MRFF Emerging Priorities and Consumer Driven Research Initiative – 2020 Childhood Cancer Research Grant
This funding scheme aims to provide grants of financial assistance to support  medical research and medical innovation projects that improve our understanding of the aetiology, biology and progression of cancer in children and adolescents. $9 million is available in this funding pool, and applications close on 3rd February 2021Apply now »

MRFF Clinical Trial Activity Initiative - 2020 International Clinical Trial Collaborations Grant Opportunity 
Applicants to this funding scheme must propose a clinical trial in Australia, in collaboration with international counterparts. $12.6 million is available in this funding pool, and round 2 applications close on 3rd March 2020.  Apply now »
