Originally from Beverly, I got my start painting floorcloths while attending Memphis College of Art in the mid-nineties. I worked part-time for a couple of furniture designers. It was there where I was taught different techniques about faux finishes on furniture. Oftentimes I would practice different faux finish techniques on remnants of canvas, (2’X2’). I would use the canvas floorcloths in my own studio after applying several coats of acrylic polyurethane. I was amazed how durable they can be.
In 2012, my husband, James (who does landscape photography) and I opened our studio in Amesbury at 14 Cedar Street studios. I work mainly on custom hand-painted floorcloths, but I can be commissioned to paint pet portraits or landscapes as well.
