Somebody's watching me

Nothing burns off those Christmas cookies faster than sprinting through your house at 6 a.m. after realizing that Sprinkles Jollytime is still sitting on the plastic horse he was riding yesterday. We highly suggest buying yourself a solid two weeks by cramming the elf in a glass jar of isolation and telling your kids he's quarantining.

Forward this to someone who forgot to move the bleeping elf.

2020 has been the year of eating our feelings, and, frankly, we're all tired of the bitter aftertaste. Give your loved ones something delicious to sink their teeth into, like cheeses, chocolates and good cheer. Oh, and if you're still trying to work your way onto the Nice List, forget milk and cookies. An inside source tells us these are the goodies Santa likes best.
Even though it's the holiday season, it's important to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and cake pops. With cake pops from Easy Peasy Decadent Desserts, you can let someone know they're the Papa to your Buddy, the Clarice to your Rudolph, the sprinkles to your icing. Basically, these cake pops say everything you're struggling to put into words.
Hello, is it Brie you're looking for?  Maybe it's Gruyere, Gouda or Cheddar. Whatever it is that breaks the mold, Deep Roots Market has a wide selection of wine and artisanal cheeses for you to put together a savory treat for someone you think is grate. If you need a hand, they'll happily help you create just the right combo for that special person who loves you in spite of, no, because of, your cheesy jokes.
Can't you see the sunshine, can't you just taste the toffee? James Taylor penned those lyrics after munching on the goods in this curated box from Summerfield Farms. True story. This bundle is packed with locally made nibbles that will have your loved ones going to Carolina in their minds and, even better, in their stomachs.

PHOTO VIA HIP HOP NUTCRACKER

I said a hip hop

He's not a player, he just crushes a lot.  And now that nutcracker will be showing off his contemporary dance moves in a modern retelling of a classic Christmas ballet. On December 12, the Tanger Center offers Hip Hop Nutcracker, a live streamed performance that will cashew dancing along at home.

Oh, snap!

If you've got molasses pumping through your veins, Gingerbread Wars is for you! This sweet competition is available for all ages, and kicks off on December 14 with a Facebook live, sharing tips of the gingerbread trade. Participants will have until December 20 to submit their confectionary constructions. Let's see how you roll.

Seize the clay

Take out all of your holiday stress on a defenseless ball of clay as you mold it into a beautiful pair of earrings at Mad Splatter on December 9. Enjoy a complementary glass of wine and do what you kneed.

The sun's a ball of butter

2020 will not rain on the Downtown Greensboro Balloon Regatta parade. This year, you're invited to decorate your car and slowly drive along the route capturing the sights and sounds of the performances and balloons from the comfort of your own seatwarmer.

All about that brass

We're happy tonight, driving in a "Zion Wonderland." On December 11 and 12, take your carful to Mt. Zion Church for a free night of festive lights, nativities, African dancing and live music. The Greensboro Symphony Wonderland Brass and Drums will be there to drown out the sounds of your bickering brood.

Lovely weather for a hay ride together

Head over to McLaurin Farm's Christmas Festival for your one stop magic opp.  Drive through lights, $10; hayride, $12; parking, $5. Not hearing "I'm bored" for a solid hour, priceless. Check their website for available dates and tickets.

Worth melting for

Greensboro's little stars take the stage as snowflakes in "A Season for Snowflakes," and as insects in a retelling of an Aesop fable. You can catch Two Winter Tales on December 12 and 13. We guarantee your heart will either melt or grow three sizes.

I knew you were treble

The son of North Carolina's own late Thelonious Monk carries on his musical legacy in a virtual musical performance you don't want to miss. Cover your sofa with velvet and turn your living room into a jazz lounge as T.S. Monk III inspires you to groove and sip straight, no chaser.

Pairs well with pandemic

We like our wine just like we like our Santa Claus – red, full bodied and aged to perfection. If you'd like to sip a whole range of flavors, grab your tickets for a virtual wine tasting evening with Winestyles on December 10.

I got you milk, eggs and...

Can you finish that movie quote? Hint, it rhymes with "mabric coftener." If you think you know more about holiday movies than anyone else in all of GSO, don't stay home alone tonight. Gather a couple of friends for a challenging round of trivia and an easy peasy round of brews at Joymongers.

Alexa, pour me some Bublé

We know that the hardest decision all season isn't what to register for at Tiffany's for your wishlist. No, it's what music to play out of the incessantly growing online library of holiday tunes. To help you out, here's a list of the 71 best Christmas songs ever. Mariah's at the very top, followed closely by Wham! And that's how we know it's legit.
