Dear Friends of YCF,
In 2021, YCF will celebrate its 10th anniversary as the community foundation serving the north central region of West Virginia. Each of you supported its establishment and growth with contributions of time and resources to YCF and its predecessor organizations, The Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia, Inc. and the Greater Morgantown Community Trust.
Thanks to your support and engagement, YCF has grown and significantly increased its ability to serve the region. YCF currently administers more than 150 charitable and scholarship funds, distributing $725,161 in 2019. It has also increased its invested assets from $6,685,261 in 2011, to $16,811,150 as of September 30, 2020.
One of the major strengths of a community foundation is the ability to identify a community’s most pressing needs and have the flexibility to identify and target resources to those needs.
YCF’s ability to address community needs is dependent upon the size of YCF’s endowed unrestricted fund, marketed as the IMPACT Fund. The only restriction is the fund must be used for grants to charitable organizations within YCF's five-county service area. Historically, this fund has been modest; therefore, it has been unable to meet many important needs of the community.
Thanks to a generous donor, YCF has received an offer to match all donations to the IMPACT Fund. Because we have an opportunity to double the value of donations and increase YCF’s ability to make grants, we are asking you to please consider a donation to the IMPACT Fund in December 2020.

1. Your money will be used solely to make grants to worthwhile organizations within the five-county service area to improve the lives of its residents.
2. Your donation will enable YCF, through the matching pledge, to significantly increase its grantmaking for services most needed in our communities.
