Since 2009, content providers (owners of the channels) have raised their fees by more than 1,200%. It is due to these yearly significant price increases that Smithville will no longer be offering Streaming TV service. We strived to minimize programming cost increases despite the steady increase in channel costs each year. Most recently, we've been hit hard by local channel rate increases, necessitating the need to make this decision. As a result of these challenges, and after much analysis and discussion,
Smithville will be discontinuing our Streaming TV service effective February 15, 2021.
