In a time where directions and plans are often unknown, GEAR UP Jefferson County would like to give thanks to so many people and organizations that have helped (and continue to help) make opportunities available to students and teachers all across Jefferson County. It is easy to become discouraged by situations and statistics during the pandemic that we are all going through, but working together and spreading positivity, rather than germs, is a move in the right direction. 

Special Delivery


GEAR UP Jefferson County Project Director Jenny Ceesay, delivered Poly Studios to all 22 of our schools this month. The Poly Studios are to assist and enhance the virtual instruction being provided by following the teacher’s voice while creating a “sound screen” for the background noise. Each school received a specific number of devices based on the size of the cohort served in the respective school. The GEAR UP Jefferson County team was excited to provide this support for our schools and is eager to continue supporting them during these ever-changing times.
